Today, 1 in 4 adults in our region struggles with low literacy. This statistic represents real people with real dreams (parents, workers, caregivers, neighbors) who deserve the chance to reach their goals.​

Illiteracy should never be the reason someone’s future is limited.​

 

Your gift to the Literacy Council of West Alabama will directly support new initiatives, including our Literacy for ALL* Campaign, which provides uniquely designed, dignity-preserving, adult-focused learning books created just for our learners. Your support will also help us expand Little Libraries throughout the region and increase awareness of the urgent need for literacy education.​

Individual Membership Levels

• Reader ($25/Month)

  • Supports 1 adult literacy learner per month.

• Mentor ($50/Month)

  • Supports 2 adult literacy learners per month.

• Scholar ($100/Month)

  • Supports 2 adult literacy learners per month and provides 5 Literacy for ALL books.

• Graduate ($250/Month)

  • Supports 3 learners, sponsors 1 new tutoring kit, and provides 3 Literacy for ALL books.​
