Reading Support for the Real World
Books uniquely designed to preserve the dignity of adult readers - at any level.
In our work to increase literacy rates among adults in West Alabama, we found that there are very few adult-centered resources for practicing reading skills. Adult Literacy Learners are often forced to choose children’s books to practice at home between tutoring sessions. This can be embarrassing and frustrating, so we are doing something about it.
Through Literacy For ALL we are creating books that allow adults to practice literacy skills with stories that are relevant to everyday life.
The first set of books covers topic like interview preparation, time management, and conflict resolution. The writing, revising, and designing for ALL books is done in house by members of the LCWA board of directors.
ALL books are provided to learners at no cost. To help in the development of future books and ensure that we can continue to provide adults with the resources necessary to grow through literacy, we need you support. Join us today as a Literacy Champion to sponsor learners and Literacy For ALL books!
