Improving Literacy One Day at a Time
Proudly serving
West Alabama
since 2008
LCWA works with clients and community partners to ensure everyone is provided an equal opportunity to experience the joys of reading and writing. We work tirelessly to reduce the rates
of illiteracy in our adult population while implementing preventative measures for area children. By identifying communities in need, LCWA is able to provide direct services to those communities that will address the needs of the functionally, and completely illiterate.
Adult Services
LCWA offers tutoring services to adults, as well as opportunities to assist with GED requirements as needed.
We also provide workforce development courses to increase our clients' likelihood of securing a stable job once literate.
Child Services
LCWA has formed relationships with several area schools and libraries to provide students with books for every grade level.
We have also established Little Libraries in communities within our services area to ensure students have books even when school is not in session. We also offer many programming opportunities for children of all ages.
